Danny Sun, MD  International Affairs & Research and Development


Dr. Danny Sun obtained his BS degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine.  During this time he was involved with artificial lung research and received numerous scholarships and awards for academic excellence.  Following his undergraduate training, Dr. Sun spent four years conducting medical research at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center.  In 1987 Dr. Sun completed his MD degree Cum Laude at the Universidad Eugenio Maria de Hostos School of Medicine in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
 

Upon returning to the U.S., he served as post-doctoral hypertension research fellow in the Hypertension Center at the MLK-Drew Hospital at the Charles L. Drew University of Medicine & Science in Los Angeles, California.  After completion of this program, he completed a surgical residency at Easton Hospital in Easton, Pennsylvania; plastic surgery training at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York; a microsurgery and hand surgery fellowship at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia; and an aesthetic surgery fellowship at Plastic Surgery Associates, P.A., Miami, Florida.

 

Dr. Sun is currently a member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the Washington Medical Society.  Dr. Sun has spent seven years as Chief of Plastic Surgery in a multi-specialty clinic as well as in a private practice setting.
